Quantum particle across Grushin singularity <sup>*</sup>

A class of models is considered for a quantum particle constrained on degenerate Riemannian manifolds known as Grushin cylinders, and moving freely subject only to the underlying geometry: corresponding spectral analysis developed in detail view phenomenon transmission across singularity that separates two half-cylinders. Whereas classical counterpart always consists falling finite time along geodesics onto metric's locus, may display geometric confinement, or opposite partial reflection. All local realisations free (Laplace-Beltrami) Hamiltonian are examined non-equivalent protocols transmission/reflection structure their spectrum characterised, including when applicable ground state positivity.
